More than 800 medical seats are vacant across deemed universities in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry after NEET UG 2026 counselling. Experts attribute this situation to prohibitively high tuition fees that many students cannot afford. A senior educationist stated that high scorers often opt out of applying for these essential medical seats. The average annual fees in deemed universities far exceed those in other private institutions across India.
The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has declared the final result for Constable General Duty recruitment under the Sports Quota 2026. The recruitment drive aims to fill 404 vacancies across multiple sporting disciplines for male and female candidates. Applicants can check their selection status, shortlisted roll numbers and withheld results through the official recruitment website.
